Forums give overbloated unique hit counters!

Most forum software writes cookies to your computer and that is how they track unique users. So if the cookie is not there to write number of vists by that unique user, they consider it a unique user hit. However, a lot of people use internet surfer software when browsing to keep their internet habits private and those various utilities do not allow cookies to be written so every hit by that user is seen as unique. So one person using surfer software reads say a dozen posts on a site a day, then that ONE person is seen as 12 unqiue hits since their surfer software did not allow cookies to be written.

...like the rest of your writings...this is merely the best you could do with several words you sort of understood...and like the rest, you got it wrong. There`s no point trying to explain this to you...you`ll just leave the building and land on someone.

Just FYI since a lot of these forums posting their unique hits bragging, actually are being mislead and it is as much as 1/10th that number depending on how many are using surfer software that does not allow cookies and how many posts they read there a day.
