I always said I was COPYING original Assyrian art and sculpture..that was the whole POINT...to begin at the beginning and make our connection to the ancients clear to our contemporaries..in fact, any time I dared do something only slightly original I got blasted for it...accused of CHANGING things...but this is all for Assyrian art...there are other pieces that are my own...and they aren't great either...just the best I can do for now. ...while the Ashurbanipal Monument is a copy based on various original designs...and is not by any means a "creative" work of art...getting made, financed and installed at so prestigious a location was GENIUS!!! THAT was ART baby!!! YOU go out and inspire Assyrians to give you a DIME for a public monument or anything else...and see how far you get. Getting the Ashurbanipal made and installed...that was pure ART...and, in this case...the first of its kind in 2500 years...it was "good enough".
