I heard a fascinating story on NPR today about how in California, there's an area full of Persians called Teherangelous where the bulk of the Iranian pop culture (musicians, actors, satellite TV stations, etc.) is generated in the WORLD. Imagine that, a people just like us who are minorities in this country, but the only difference is that they can actually create culture here in the US and export it BACK TO IRAN and around the world...whereas we just assimilate. How odd...don't you think? --------------------- |
