How in Ashur's name did you manage to get kicked off that thing? For some reason he keeps me on there. And quite frankly I'm getting tired of telling Assyrians not to buy his bridges. I'll let them learn the hard way. Meanwhile his latest e-mail, surprise, surprise, is calling for a homeland! I call President.......Jeff what say you ve Vice President quick before the AUA hear about our soon to be established homeland? ............................................................................. Dear Sargon,  Thank you for your kind note.  Frankly I have had it.  I met today twice each with Senator Joseph Biden and Senator Orin Hatch who are the two key Senators on the Democratic and Republican sides of the Aisle.  Senator Biden whom I know well from the past said `I completely agree with you and your assessment of the current situation in Iraq. I fully support such a proposal.`  Senator Orin Hatch put it even more completely `I am behind it completely`.  This is starting to border on the bizarre.  I met with Prime Minister Jaffari and Foreign Minister Zebari and they said the same thing. We met last year with the EU they said the same thing.  I jus finished speaking with the Japanese Government and they said `If the Americans support it we will` (They are the second major donor to Iraq)  Frankly, what more do we need?  The leadership is completely incapable of doing anything - this was the same reaction a year ago and nothing has changed.  We need to simply as they have all asked put a formal request to the Iraqi Government and all other Governments concerned.  See who you can contact about this.  In all my life I have never seen such paralysis of leadership. It is frankly bizarre and God will judge us when our people are suffering and things are handed to us on a silver platter we stand there and discuss what type of silver it is.  Anyone can call me at 646 249 3750.  I think us `regular people` need to take this into our hands. Our people in Iraq are paralyzed with fear in the face of the islamic (sic) republic of Iraq and unable to say what they want.  It is up to us who can to put forth what is being offered to us.  The silence is deafening and I think says to us that the `grassroots` need to take this into our own hands and go for it.  It will be the next century before the leaderships finish with their meetings and consultations and come to a conclusion to make a conclusion.  I look forward to hearing from you or anyone else who is `normal`.  Your brother,  Ken Joseph www.assyrianchristians.com  PS: The reaction when I try to communicate this? `Its impossible - they are just saying it. They don’t mean it` Talk about weird! I am at the end of my rope! I have never in my life experienced this level of abnormal behavior, almost a masochist desire for failure and martyrdom.  `Nothing good can possibly happen to us - there must be a secret plan behind it all to destroy us` is the atmosphere.   ----- Original Message ----- From: Sargon Audisho To: Rev. Hi Ken, I just wanted to say that you're still doing a wonderful job advocating for us. I'd love to do something if I can use my capabilities and skills as you suggest, so if there's something that you know I can do, please by all means let me know. I'm currently a medical student and a member of the Assyrian Academic Society. I'll also be assisting in the preparations for this year's convention in Chicago. If you have any ideas or thoughts, please let me know.  Sargon --------------------- |
