In Response To: Are we ready if and when Iraq splits? (Fred Aprim)

Dear Fred,
Firstly, a serious issue such as this could and should not be discussed in the open as it will deteriorate to mere accusations tossed left right and center in addition to cementing the outsiders' view about the usual lack of seriousness of the debates on this forum thus far.

..I think he means Democracy is silly and likely to get things "tossed around"...what you need instead is a select few deciding among themselves and then DEMANDING everyone else go along..you know, for UNITY!

I second one reader's view of connecting through emails in private as contributors to this forum to discuss this issue in depth.

...having made a foolish forum, they`ve decided it`s best to side step "Foolish Forums" and instead have the same fools talk to each other in private...I thought that`s what they were doing all along.

The next step would be, provided a unamnimous agreement is reached on the possible and fruitful course of action,

..ya gotta love such a doofus...in private they will AGREE...you know why? Because they`ll BAN anyone from their private discussion who won`t agree...see how easy it is to reach "consensus" in a Police State?

to send an urgent DEMAND as a wake up call to our political organizations to convene in an urgent summit,

..let`s review this...just to see how Assria thinks, or, thinks it thinks...It`s too "silly" to thrash things out in the open, even though they already control what they allow as, "the open". They feel they should go one step further and close it up even more by making it a private chat between people who think alike already...then, when THEY`VE managed to agree with one another...having already excluded anyone from their private discussion who is "wrong" as they shut out those from the "open" forum already...they will then come back to the same silly people (who couldn`t possibly have gotten any wiser, bereft as they were and shut out of the recent "intelligent" discussion that went on in private), whom they didn`t care to talk to and issue a DEMANDSES that every silly person, excluded and tosed out along the way, should THEN agree to? Did I get it right???

if you will,

..he won`t.

with the view to discuss and determine some realistic and achievable objectives along with an outline of a serious plan of action.

..is this same old same old, or what!

In other words, we can sit in our comfort and preach until the cows come home with no action taken.

...ahHA..."action" then, becomes the act, the ACT (?) of talking....but in PRIVATE? This is ACTION in Assria???

Yet those who are the front line soldiers

...the bizarre notion of what constitutes "action" is only matched by the deliriously funny idea of what a "soldier" must be, in Assria.

and who have taken it upon themselves to lead our nation at this critical juncture

...and who are they, pray tell, but the SAME people you just called silly? Who in heaven`s name is "leading" you if not Bush and Jesus...and by the nose at that?

should be called upon to come good in their undertaking by starting to think and speak with one voice and demonstrate to us that they have matured and worthy enough of the support we must all lend.

...being an imbecile yourself...how would you be able to judge what maturity is?

Adam

...You should have eaten the entire tree.
