...how do you know there's a real "you" in there and not just a compilation of all the things put INSIDE you as you grew and "learned"? Take my favorite idiots, the grairs. They are extrememly unoriginal...you can write their lines for them and I most often do. They wait for me, or someone else, to say "A", then they come up with "non-A" and want you to believe it's a "position" of their's...when all they did was rearrange your own words...with some added "wit". The grairs question nothing...except those who DO question things...and they think that makes them intellectuals...or that they have a mind...of their own. You'll spend years researching a book filled with startling ideas and when you're done a grair will walk up and say..."you stupid dummy, you're all wrong"..and they'll think they too were "in on it"... If you could do it...if you could take the grairs back to their infancy (not far to travel) and place them in China, let's say...or in France 300 years ago...or with a tribe of cannibals in Bora Bora 1000 years ago...do you think they would question anything in THOSE cultures? Do you think they'd be anything but mouthing dimwits, spewing back whatever the chief headhunter told them was the way it HAD to be...or else? Grairs are cowards...we see that clearly enough. Whether they were born that way or decided to make the best of their upbringing and become Cowards for GOD matters little...they are the kind that hug the coast of human thought and experience...not ones to venture out anywhere. had they been cannibal children of 20,000 years ago they would have remained forever faithful to Mugwhump and seen as liberal anyone who challenged the cannibal god and his minions. They aren't the kind to defy a parent...a teacher..a priest... a president, king or God. They scare easily and were easy to make into docile recipients of whatever mumbo jumbo was being peddled at the time in any place..or culture you'd drop them in. They are not only unoriginal but also inauthentic...they aren't REAL. They are a recording...spewing back all the filth and ignorance shoveled into their ears...either too stupid or too afraid to think for themselves and ACT on their convictions..no matter the personal cost. They were not the ones to move us forward but rather the ones who dig their heels in whether it's 2005 or 1234 or 5000 BC. They'll call it conservative but it's more like dullwitted and PROWD. They're the kind that cling to the dock, making fun of all those who dare swim away and cavort with the fishes..even sharks. They'll tell you they really don't want to...that it's a SIN...that they really prefer gripping the pier with arms legs and teeth..that this is preferable, "Dude"...and what they really want to do anyway. Those people who dared question...question a parent...a teacher...a priest or king or general or president...those who were not afraid...or rather afraid but persisted anyway...they are the ones who invented things...who dissipated ignorance and superstition...they are the ones who wrote the ideas and sought out the mysteries...that the church condemned and burned..much to the delight of grairs who then, as now, like nothing more than intellectual squalor and mediocrity with a large Nanny looming nearby to protect them and behind whom they can hide. If you're the kind of person who asks questions and isn't afraid of the ruffled feathers or worse...who tries to see behind things and demands Reason rather than mush, just because mush is more soothing or "safer"...then you are the kind who ALWAYS asked questions, who NEVER accepted the "self" handed to you under threat in 2005 or 1435 or 3000BC. You are the one with a CHANCE at finding your essential self..that part of you that isn't manufactured by others and stitched over your soul. Don't stop. --------------------- |
