The more the trial of Saddam continues the more obvious it becomes that it's a kangaroo court...illegally imposed on Iraq by the United States. In the latest exchange a witness for the Americans (that's all he is) says the following regarding the retaliation in the aftermath of a suicide attempt against Saddam: "There was random arrests in the streets, all the forces of the (Baath) party, and Thursday became `Judgment Day' and Dujail has become a battle front," the witness said, sometime fighting back tears. "Shootings started and nobody could leave or enter Dujail. At night, intelligence agents arrived headed by Barazan" Ibrahim. At this point Ibrahim interrupted him, saying that "I am a patriot and I was the head of the intelligence service of Iraq." The charge is that Saddam's security people killed 140 civilians because of the attempted assassination. Well what the hell are Americans doing in the entire country? Don't they run from village to village and neighborhood to neighborhood retaliating against civilians who've dared fight back...or who are suspected of "harboring" Freedom Fighters? Ten Marines were just killed in Fallujah which, we were assured, had been "cleared". Any idea how many civillians were killed in that "clearance" and how many will die when America RETALIATES? is there any difference between Saddam's forces and Bush's? There is one: Saddam was the head of state of Iraq...the Americans are occupiers. 40% of the Iraqi people believe it's justified to kill Americans...any doubt what Americans would like to do to 40% of the civilian population of Iraq? Kill them maybe? --------------------- |
