..it takes a long time, at least it does for me, to figure out just what motivates these boys. If you think along rational lines you`ll be a long way off. Their "analysis", their "petitions", their "demandses" are all purely emotional...they are not grounded in anything factual...not in any way the civilized world understands "facts". What the boys believe IS a FACT...because THEY believe it to be. This is a side-effect of being Christian and believing that YOU talk to the ONLY god and he tells you the truth and the rest of the world is just plain wrong or evil. This pig-headedness, strutting around as "moral certitude", is only one of the enduring crimes religion commits against the developing human mind.

..I think this is what they actually think:...they know that Christianity existed in Iraq before the Muslims came from Arabia to conquer the land...they discount the fact that Christianity is not an Assyrian religion but a Jewish one, also that it is no more indigenous to Iraq than Islam or Judaism. But what matters to them is that Christianity was FIRST...at least it came before Islam...there were already Jews in Iraq.

..The other conviction they hold is that any Assyrian who converts away from Christianity can not be a "true" Assyrian from then on. Even though they speak of genes and ethnicity and heritage...and also BLOOD, the only thing that really counts with them is that you MUST become and then remain Christian. It never enters their heads that to switch from Ashur to a Jew Christ in ANY way makes you a non-Assyrian...no, only switching from Ashur AWAY to Islam or Judaism or Buddhism or Taoism, renders you non-Assyrian. Does it take much to realize that their entire basis for being "Assyrian" is that they are Christian? That being Christian is the first and ONLY criterion they`ll accept...anything else means you are a traitor and enemy and Arabized etc.

..it is their fiction that Assyrians converted en masse to Christianity...they did not. Not even JEWS converted en masse or even in sizeable numbers to Christianity...Assyrians sure as shit weren`t impressed. But, since they claim this to be the case..they put the two together...one, being their belief that they are Assyrians..and two, because Christianity was in Iraq before Islam...hence "Assyrians"(Christians) were in Iraq before Arabs (Muslims)..and since to them any Assyrian who converted to Islam automatically became an "Arab"...the only true "Assyrians" left MUST all be Christian. Go figure that one out!

Since Christianity came first to Iraq...well after Ashurism it must be pointed out, (even though there were still Ashurists around...and since Islam CONQUERED them)...they feel the "indigenous" RELIGION and therefore the people of that religion, are the ONLY ones who are truly Assyrian....truly indigenous.

..and THAT is the basis for these ridiculous claims to a triangle or a plain etc.

..And further, that any Assyrian who converted to Islam not only can`t be an Assyrian (because their definition of what it is to be Assyrian is purely Christian) but automatically becomes an ARAB...because Islam is from Arabia. It never dawns on their thick skulls that by the same ditzy logiciqueak, anyone who converted to Christianity became a JEW...because Judaism is from Israel...the land of the Jews.

It is ALL Christianity...fighting among itself...with the various sects using "Assyrianism" to a greater or lesser extent to give some polish to their feeble claims...in hopes of winning a Christlandia in the Mideast.

..take Christianity away from them and they have nothing...they have no claim to being Assyrian other than the religion and the liturgical language of that religion...which in the time of Christ was the common language of Jews and Egyptians as well...and even here, they never tire of telling this Wurld that it is the language of CHRIST...and NOT the language of Ashur which Christ and the Jews learned from the Assyrians.

...And they are correct in this...because if one of them gives up Christianity, as far as the rest are concerned, he just stopped being "Assyrian" as well! Even THEY admit this Jewish religion is EVERYTHING...is ALL they mean when they use the word "Assyrian".
