Website title:

Main Entry: na·tion
Pronunciation: 'nA-sh&n
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English nacioun, from Anglo-French naciun, from Latin nation-, natio birth, race, nation, from nasci to be born; akin to Latin gignere to beget -- more at KIN

1 a (1) : NATIONALITY 5a (2) : a politically organized nationality (3) : a non-Jewish nationality <why do the nations conspire -- Psalms 2:1 (Revised Standard Version)>

...okay, the below definition comes closest to our purpose....

b : a community of people composed of one or more nationalities and possessing a more or less defined territory and government

...it's interesting that this definition includes "one or MORE nationalities"...within ONE nation.

...the people who think in terms of an Assyrian nation today...who are NOT in Iraq, by the way...have no "defined territory" at all...this does not mean to imply that the territory you want to claim can be half-way round the world..it means the territory that YOU occupy at the time you make this claim...and these people are all in America or Europe or Australia claiming territories FAR from them and over which they have no valid claim or actual hold...as recognized by any grown-ups.

... And, of course, they have no government of any kind...even while they all yell about a parliament in exile..the little dears...they have no such thing and again, if they formed one it would not be ON the territory they claim...they do not "possess" any such territory...that is a key word...."possessing a more or less defined territory and government"...they POSSESS neither!

c : a territorial division containing a body of people of one or more nationalities and usually characterized by relatively large size and independent status

...again, they have none of this. The "territorial division" they claim (Nineveh's Triangle) does NOT contain, "a body of people....CHARACTERIZED by relatively large size and INDEPENDENT status." At least not THEM.

2 archaic : GROUP, AGGREGATION
3 : a tribe or federation of tribes (as of American Indians)

...key word is ARCHAIC...the kids point to Native American tribes as "nations"...pointing out such things as "Apache Nation"...or "Cherokee Nation"....now "archaic" means out of use....old fashioned...serving no purpose today...to refer to an Apache Nation is archaic usage...it really means "tribe"...today the United States is the NATION...there can be nationalities within it...but no other NATIONS. Iraq is the NATION..there are nationalities in Iraq...but there can be no other nation within the nation....it doesn't square with the main definition of the word previously given.

...so you see, Jesus? You see what a little reading and impartial research can teach you?
