The one thing missing from the point of view so often expressed here, that an indigenous group has any legal or moral right to lands taken from it, is any example in history where such a return of anything has taken place. When this argument is made to Americans or the British it must astound them. America stole all of itīs land from the indigenous people. In fact, Assyrians today live on those stolen lands and I can`t imagine any of them being impressed by such an argument if an Apache came knocking on their door. If this is such a cornerstone of Assyrian thinking, then why isnīt it fleshed out a little more to show us where or how or if ever it has been done. --------------------- |
