...tell me something...how would it be if we used the Assrian "proof" of what a REAL Assyrian is on anyone else...anyone whose ethnic AND religious identity hails from the time of the ancients....take the Jews for instance who still believe in that monstrous god of theirs who never met a child he didn't kill. They have maintained loyalty to him all these centuries...remaining unimpressed by all of Christ's claims. Can you imagine a a person calling himself a Jew today...and a very PROUD Jew and a REAL Jew who, at the same time, scoffs at the GOD of the Jews and sheds tears of joy that he no longer believes in that "bloodthirsty and cruel god"???

Can you imagine a Christian saying she is that much MORE a Christian because she DOESN'T believe in Christ?

Yet isn't that exactly what these prowd "Assyrians" tell us over and over? This heritage comes down through the ages from a time when your nation was also your religion, which was your ethnicity and your food and clothes and art and everything else...it is not a modern term coined in 1000 AD or during the Enlightenment or the Age of Democracy. It is as OLD and OLDER than the Hebrews themselves, from a time when you WERE your religion.

Our boys are THRILLED to have left Ashur but are aghast at the idea of leaving Christ. How can that be? What part of them is "Assyrian" then...that they don't sit on?
