Jackie Bejan sued first me and then Jeff for two million dollars each. She claimed I lied about what passed between us and that things I said about her amounted to slander and defamation. She sued me first and later added Jeff when she found out he sent me the emails from her in which she'd made her most outrageous comments about me and my "cheating" ways. She also claimed he was the one who made the site available to me and so was in cahoots with me to tell "lies" about her.

She is a master at lying about people...but since she does it behind their backs and in private....she manages to get away with it. I told the truth about her in public...and to her that was a "crime".

I had just moved to Mexico then so I had to travel back to the States every three months or so for a year and a half to appear in court...it's a long, slow process and since Jeff and I were acting as our own lawyers, it was tedious as hell.

But I was convinced she would never follow through...that it was just one long harrassment meant to force us to bow before her checkbook. I mean...who in their right mind would sue someone for saying she has a fat ass? All I have to do to win the case is prove that she HAS a fat ass....can you imagine the courtroom scene? "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury I ask you turn your attention to plaintiff's ass....ah, stand up and turn around so the jury can see your ass, Ms Bejan....now, I ask you, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, is that a fat ass or is that a FAT ass"?

Her complaint against me made for a stack several inches high...they were asking for a court order that would stop me from, among a host of other things, giving pet names to her pooter...you know, vagina. I'd invented a few...but I was never to refer to it by any sort of name in the future. Now...I ask you...

I was afraid she wouldn't go through with it...because I was dying to put her on the stand and finally put those questions to her she would have to answer...truthfully I hoped. I was even being sued by her for calling her a "woman scorned"..and yet her very behavior was all the proof I needed.

Anyway, we went through every step of the process till all that was left was setting a trial date. I came up from Mexico for that one...but then, what I feared would happen all along, happened...her lawyer, unable to get her to respond to his phone calls or pay him...petitioned the court to allow him to resign from the case. The court did so and it was over...old "boiler-panties" had lost her steam.

No doubt she knew all along there was no way in hell she was going to get on that witness stand, in front of a gallery full of eager Assyrians...straining to watch this farce play out. I knew all along she wouldn't...but I kept hoping.

Jackie is a talented and hard working woman...very bright and capable...but there are other sides to her, as there are to all of us..and those of us who've been damaged or hurt by that other side know whereof we speak.

If I was merely malicious I would re-post all those posts she found so offensive and hound her out of spite...but the point never was to just get back at her...to hurt her in a tit for tat...the point was to serve notice on all of them that there were new rules...that if they were going to persist in blasting people's reputations behind the scenes, so none of us ever knew for certain where the damage was coming from...that I, at least, would go public with what information I had..and let the chips fall where they may...and in the end they all fell on Jackie. I got hurt and damaged too...but the damage to me was done already...it's just that she wasn't going to walk away unscathed. I wasn't THAT damaged.
