Terrified Residents Flee Iraq Fighting

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Scores of terrified Iraqis fled a besieged town Sunday, waving white flags and hauling their belongings to escape a second day of fighting between U.S. Marines and al-Qaida militants along the Syrian border. U.S. and Iraqi troops battled insurgents house-to-house, the U.S. military said.

Brig. Gen. Donald Alston, a U.S. military spokesman, told reporters in Baghdad that none of the 3,500 U.S. and Iraqi troops had been killed since the assault on Husaybah, 200 miles northwest of the capital, began Saturday.

"We are having contact with the enemy, but we are not meeting stiff resistance," Alston said Sunday. "They are using small-arms fire."

...gee...imagine that..."terrible SMALL ARMS fire"!

...we're supposed to forget that there IS no Al Qaida...there certainly is no interest in getting the Saudi Arabian behind the supposed Al Qaida...that there was never any link made between Iraq and old "Al"...the "enemy" they're killing, while bragging about losing no one theemselves, are all civilians who can be called anything, once they're dead...just WHEN did an army of insurgents MEET their American enemies and have a shoot-out at the OK corral???

The Iraqi Freedom Fighters have no serious weapons EXCEPT bombs they set off here and there...they have no jets for aerial combat...no gun ships, no drones, no computer guided anything....no carpet bombing...they have rifles and hand guns and rocket grenades...against the most sophisiticated weapons the world has ever seen...of COURSE they aren't going to meet anyone face to face...the Americans KNOW there are only civiliians in those villages..but they have to kill SOMEBODY!...without losing a SINGLE one of their own.

They're at the Syrian border hoping to incite some retaliation by Syria who, in the Christian Handbook, is supposed to sit by and do nothing as Crusaders fire across the border at "insurgents" from "outside"...who the fuck is there to argue different? Then they'll have the excuse they THINK might win some popular support for an attack into Syria...to spread democracy THERE.
