...In the new article at assyrianconvention.com the author leaves out direct smarmy references to being Christian and "ain't that great, dude"...it's still discussed but not in a way calculated to make the judicious gag. It's more about being Assyrian...what it might mean and how anyone knows they are...on the surface that is This last bit is interesting...

The pieces to the puzzle were connected and made very clear to me. I was asked to stay home out of fear. It was so clear that if it were any other so-called Assyrian a lawsuit would have been settled by now.

...this is confusing to me. By "any other Assyrian" does the author indict herself for NOT bringing a lawsuit...as if to say that she is NOT that kind of passionate Assyrian interested in her legal rights?

This is where I get my answer from. This story and many others like it in my lifetime. Each one of us needs to find OUR own answer as to what makes us an Assyrian. It's not in Church. Mel Gibson can't tell you. It's not in Iraq. I can't tell you what makes YOU an Assyrian.

...yes but you just told us what makes a REAL Assyrian...and it ain't you, apparently. At least one would assume that a REAL Assyrian would not take abuse and injustice lying down. I am confused...do REAL Assyrians NOT fight for their legal rights...do they NOT expect equal treatment under the Law...do they NOT want to be accorded the same rights as anyone else? You didn't say it outright and, though you SEEM to say that you are a fighter who will NOT turn the other cheek when attacked...one is left wondering if your definition of what a REAL Assyrian would have done in your place isn't..."turn the cheek"? Is this sly Christian bullshit wrapped in a national cover to hide its stench, again?

I am an Assyrian. I am a warrior that never hates his enemy but learns from him. I fight a strong and able enemy, fair fight all the way. Not one that is down and out. I never take the coward's sick reward of kicking a dead dog.

...that's admirable...but the tremendous ignorance and prejudice in White Christian America that made it tell you to stay home is hardly a "dead dog". It is a raging, terrible, LIVE monster...and you admit that perhaps ANOTHER Assyrian would have brought and settled a lawsuit...how come not you? Is THAT your mark of an "Assyrian" then? One who rationalizes injustice and turns away from the Good Fight? It seems both of us are confused...but you started it.

...indeed you clearly showed what makes an Assyrian...Muslims OR Christian OR Pagan...and it is what you DIDN'T do...for all your cusswords...you DIDN'T stand up and fight back, legally, against what amounted to discrimination...you let it slide and told us instead how you "won" over your "enemy" the "cunt and bitch" who first thought you were, GASP!, a Muslim!!! But you showed HER! She came to you for absolution...and you grandly gave it her...shared your wisdom and she was "humbled" by your ability to swivel your hips...after all!!!
