WASHINGTON D.C. – On Friday, June 30, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Rosie Malek-Yonan, author of The Crimson Field, will be testifying on Capitol Hill before a congressional committee of the 109th Congress on religious freedom regarding genocide, massacres and persecution of Assyrians in Iraq by Kurds and Islamists. She will also be comparing the Assyrian Genocide of 1914-1918, as depicted in her epic and historical novel The Crimson Field, to the current plight of the indigenous Assyrian Christians in Iraq. ..it`s a subcommitee of a subcommitte presided over by a Congressman no one heard of...hardly anyone will be in attendance...but still...

...we desperately need to "tell the wurld". First I thought, "another embarassment"...but then I thought, Rosie is at least articulate in speech...in prose she`ll all over the map...but I think she can be counted on to hold back a little in public. We need to tell this story of our PERSECUTION all over the place so we can FINALLY see that no one gives a shit.

...any story of any Christian "persecuted" anywhere serves a political purpose now. The Germans did the same thing...looking desperately for any German "persecuted" anywhere in Austria, the Sudentland, Poland...anywhere at all because it fed into the paranoia they were counting on at the time to justify their going in to "save" Germans. We`re counting desperately on someone wanting to "save us little Christians". And the administration is keen on such stories. Not that they give a damn for us...any more than Hitler really cared for the German people..he was undoubtedly the worst enemy they ever had,,,leaving them miserable, destitute, dead and starving, with their country soon to be divided and humiliated some more. Bush is no friend of America`s...and he sure as hell is no friend to "persecuted Christians"...who`ve seen themselves more hounded and abused and murdered since Bush arrived than at any time before.

...go on Rosie...tell the wurld so we can get over this fixation that if people just know WE SUFFERED they will do something for us...maybe once we see how bankrupt this "hope" is, we`ll get off our arses and do something for ourselves!
