...the people among us yammering for unity now were also the ones insisting that a Christian war against Iraq would be a first step in bringing about, not only peace and security for Christians of Iraq...but unity as well. They never wanted the unity of Iraq as ONE country...they wanted THEIR triangle...but didn't think that if THEY got their wish...it would mean direct confrontation with the Kurds..and THAT would be disasterous...not to mention the further fragmentation of the rest of Iraq...

Just where were the Kurds to go to if an Assyria was created in the north? I may be wrong but I don't recall any Kurds asking anyone for anything...certainly no Jew Messiah...and contrary to what Hanna Hajjar, the former military comander now truned dress designer, says...one Kurd would seem to be worth 1000 of THESE "Assyrians".

When we Assyrians spoke of the need to unite the entire COUNTRY and not call for the unity of its PARTS...we were reminded of 1256 AD and 1675 AD and this massacre and that massacre and of 1933 and then 1915 and on and on...as if the Catholics and Protestants of Europe had NEVER gotten over their bloody religious wars...or the Americans never gotten over their Civil War..or the Brits and America never buried the hatchet over the Revolutionary War...but no, the Assrians must NEVER again think of living side by side with the rest of Iraq because of the specialness and uniqueness of what THEY and apparently ONLY they had "suffered"...and the upshot is that they have only gone and made sure that they will now suffer even MORE than they have before..and so on and so forth...that is, those stuck in Iraq will suffer now...while these heroes of ours will go on with their comfortable and secure lives, even while they "weep" for Nineveh.

People like Jassim and Aprim and Jatou et al get so giddy over the prospect of an "Assyria" that they wound up destroying the Assyrians alive NOW.

We, like everyone else...got exactly what we deserved...the only truly innocent people here are the children...and Christians murdered over 600,000 of them.
