If Rome had never existed, there would have been no need for a Messiah for the Jews, maybe. But assuming that the only Christianity in the world had been our kind, the “right and true” Christianity, over which we’ve been battling each other for centuries and still can’t agree upon the meaning of…but anyway…we’re the real Christians and we believe because our Church told us so, that the Assyrians and many other people of the East all converted willingly and joyously and, had it not been for the cruel and savage Muslims who murdered millions and thousands of our Christians or forced them to leave the Church…we’d own the place.

We get carried away next and point with pride to the monks or priests of ours who went to China, Japan and India, spreading that great and good word…in those countries no one stopped them( a little in Japan) but rather they were given full freedom to build churches and evangelize to their heart’s content for at least 1000 years…the question is: Are there millions and millions of Christians in any of those countries?

I should think the very small groups of Christians in those countries would give the lie, once and for all, to this lie of the church that Christianity was wildly popular everywhere there wasn’t a Muslim hiding behind a bush to thwart it.
