=> Christian morality ISN'T....

...since 99% of Christians come by their morality as young children who, as soon as they can barely speak, are told all about God and what he expects and what he will do to you if you don;t give him what he wants...I say this isn;t teaching morality at all but rather fear and fawning; fear of what will happen if you disobey and a fawning on God to get the goodies.

Nowhere in any of this "teaching" does morality appear, or even love...on this basis you could teach a child anything...anything at all, as millions and millions of Christian children were taught that Jews killed Jesus...and we saw where that bit of moral teaching led..in fact we're still infected with the disease because although we've given up on THAT particular victim, we just put another, a Muslim, in his place, and are right back at the old stand as convinced now as we were then that this is "moral" teaching.

I waited till my children were old enough to reason, to understand language in all its nuances...I used enlightened self-interest as taught in the Golden Rule and then just plain common sense for why the human race developed these notions about living in harmony with other people whose rights and desires are just as valid as your own.

I could have short-circuited the process by commanding them to OBEY or else....but that isn't moral teaching...that's frightening children into compliance...and to call that "moral" teaching is absurd...worse, it's religious.
