>Now, if a sadomasochist asks himself “do I want someone to torture me for any reason”, he might delightfully answer “yes!”. Therefore, he will find it justifiable to torture others.

...torturing individuals is already against the Law. I doubt a sadomasochist is going to abide by the Bible either. Your point?

If a pervert asks himself “do I want someone to rape me for any reason”, he might lustfully answer “with pleasure!”.

...perversions are already illegal. We are talking about people who WANT a code of behavior, not deviants.

Therefore, he will find it justifiable to rape others.

...I don't see the bible stopping priests from raping and torturing.

If a suicidal who couldn't muster the courage to end his own life asks himself “do I want someone to kill me for any reason”, he might sadly answer “I wish!”. Therefore he will find it justifiable to kill others.

...killing people is illegal. We aren't talking about criminals and perverts, of which the Church has plenty...we are talking about a simple rule to guide human behavior...those criminals and perverts you cite have other problems...

If a bully asks himself “do I want someone to bully and insult me for any reason”, he might boastfully answer “bring it on!”. Therefore he will find it justifiable to bully and insult others.

...you are tiresome. Bullies don;t WANT to be bullied...ever! It is in the very nature of Bullies that they like to bully OTHERS. Which is already illegal...or highly frowned upon...no one said the Golden Rule was meant for bullies and deviants and criminals...it is meant for people who wish to live in a LAWFUL society where rights are protected etc.

>This rule isn't golden at all. It is very light and it doesn't glitter. It is fake like those costume jewelries sold at cheap stores. It is fake like those rings Pancho bought for his wedding day.

...my wedding day? How did that get into this discussion? I think you're beginning to fray at the edges.

...what does the bully and criminal and deviant do with your bible? Weare talking about rules to LIVE BY..not rules to abuse others by.

...your behavior is classic...you haven;t made your point. In fact you've done the opposite. So, what do you? You bring my wedding into it, accuse me of giving my bride phony jewelry, and then declare VICTORY!

..you smeared yourself, not the Golden Rule. I have treated you exactly as I would want to be treated myself, in debate. I have tried to stick to the point, I have exposed fallacies, I have responded fully and completely, except where you repeat yourself....I WANT to get to the heart of the issue. And, I have NOT made comments about your wife, her jewelry or lack thereof. I would not WANT my family dragged into this, therefore I extended the same courtesy to you...what I didn't want, I made sure not to do to others...whereas I am sure you don;t want your wife or family discussed in this way, but felt free to mention mine. The Golden Rule, if understood by you, would have taught you better than to take cheap shots at my family....obviously god didn't teach you.
