...interesting things going on in that state...I can't remember the name of the Black minister who is also head of the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP...he's the same one who's been leading "Moral Mondays" protests there.

A new development comes as the heir to the Pope family discount store business, a sort of poor man's version of WallMart with 400 stores in 14 southern states has just about bought the recent state elections in which Republicans now control everything for the first time since Reconstruction.

This family business aims at the poor and Black and Latino communities from where they get the bulk of their profits....this latest Pope, after spending 50 million to get Republicans elected, has had himself made State Budget Director with the result that North Carolina has drastically cut education, health, employment compensation and would take the food out of the mouths of people if they could.

This company is now in the position of getting money from poor people to use in electing people who implement policies directly contrary to their interests and well-being...and so the NAACP has set up informational pickets at these stores to at least educate people as to how they are funding their own misery by shopping.....and just in time for Christmas....a brief newsclip shows this Pope fellow, the CEO, confronting the minister...so they got his attention.

The Pope empire has every reason to be nervous, and what the fuck did they expect? Well, they expected good Christians to go on praying to Jesus for salvation and not bother to get informed or politically active in the direction and quality of their own lives here on earth...this is the reason governments support Christianity, because it keeps people looking to heaven while they get robbed here on earth.

Marx made a brilliant assessment of capitalism and its horrors to comes as well as at the time....absolutely spot-on. Where he failed, and you can't blame a man for living when he does, was in his call for violent revolution....even more so today when the State is so heavily armed....plus which, there is no need to take up guns, none at all.

In his day capitalism hadn't yet come to depend on the nickels and dimes of the masses...at that time consumer goods were few and far between...it was the huge and mighty industrialists he was up against, like Ford and Carnegie and JP Morgan, not Proctor and Gambles or Versace or Sears.

If the shoppers at those Pope family discount stores simply refrain, for one season, from shopping there, they won't wipe out ALL of the Pope fortune or even any great part of it, but they'll scare the shit out of Pope because ANY dent or slow-down in profits spells not only demoralization and humiliation but could in time be the drip drip of the drops that could hurt the company for real...the message isn't, "we want to destroy your business, you capitalist pig"...it's, "stop using the money you make from us to destroy US, you capitalist porker"!

This wasn't possible at the time of Marx and so armed rebellion and strikes seemed the only way...but today the people have in their wallets and spare change what capitalists want most....money, any amount. They desperately need to sell their products and services to us...so, WE own them, if we only knew to assert ourselves.

The people behind the Montgomery Bus Boycott figured it out and through nickels and dimes brought might Jim Crow to his knees...it turned out that Jim Crow and "our way of life" were no match for the REAL way of life of capitalists, which is to grovel for any small amount, even to the point of selling out your Southern "heritage"....for a dime, literally

It's going on again in North Carolina...no guns needed, no violence....just hang onto your dollar and spend it somewhere else, somewhere where the savvy and just-as-greedy capitalist will make sure to advertise.."The STORE THAT WON'T TRY TO MAKE YOUR LIVES MORE MISERABLE"...as a "thank you" for shopping there.
