Dear all:

Shlama +

Today as usual I was watching the C-Span and suddenly the program was about ' the Q...sh Role in Iraq hosted by , ' U.S. Institute for peace and the host was Mr. Omar Fatah as Deputy Prime Minister of the OCCUPIED ASSYRIA the so-called the KRG .

One who submitted a question was Mr. Michael Youash about the situation of the 'Chaldo Assyrian ' and what role of the Q....s played and especially during the elections by blocking our people from casting their votes.

...I saw this same presentation, though I missed Michael Youash and his question. I thought Mr Fatah was well spoken and about as forthcoming as most politicians under such circumstances, certainly more than Bush or Cheney. He said that Kurds had been subjected to all the same sorts of discrimination the Assyrians and Turcomans had...and that they were not going to do the same to their own minorities now that they were in power.

..But our silly nationalists insist that the only sign of good faith or sincerity on the part of the Kurds will come when they hand over lands our boys claim are theirs because THEY claim to be sons of Ashurbanipal. What these dweebs refuse to see is that no one, besides Christians, handed Kurdistan to the Kurds...but on the contrary they have been fighting for a few centuries, I mean REAL fighting, for that land. Now that they have won, with no one "giving" them anything, they're hardly going to hand anything over to anyone else....as no nation would do.

And, as was said before, if they persist in these demands and denunciations they will find themselves in jail...if they get close to Kurdistan...not because of the lofty sounding "persecution" but for the simple fact that they are engaging in criminal behavior....Kurdistan will in time become a new nation, recognized by the world just as Israel was. In the meantime assyrians are welcome to fight them all they want...but to think they deserve something for "demanding" is worse than stupid.

Kurds will extend full citizenship rights to assyrians...as long as they are law-abiding citizens of Kurdistan. That's all any government "owes" its citizens...not even America will tolerate "special rights" for any ethnic minority...so why should any other country?
