...the novel has this point to make: that once you miss your moment, a moment where courage or steady nerves are called for...you will never again get a clean shot, unless you then pay with the life you thought to save in your earlier moment of weakness.....

...In the play "A Man For All Seasons" by Robert Bolt, Thomas Moore explains to his son-in-law that a manīs soul is like water held in his cupped hands...once he opens his fingers and lets it pour through, he needenīt bother to look for it again.

Nenus, Giwargis, Aprim and the rest had their chance...they were there, where the action is...many remained and took their chancers...these others did not...they fled to the West where their shame has never left them...and so they sit at computers and hash out plan after plan to do what they didnīt have the guts to do when the time was right, when they were THERE, where the fate of the country is being determined...they know it, they know they failed their first and only test, and the bitterness of that knowledge is reflected in the fact that they have never been able to play the hero since..to even stand and be able to TALK...their cowardice has dogged them to this day and will follow them to their shallow graves....thatīs the reaosn they rage against those who remained behind and who have had to deal with the practical reality of living in the mess created by Western Christianity...again!
