Definition of ENTRAPMENT

a : the action or process of entrapping
b : the condition of being entrapped

: the action of luring an individual into committing a crime in order to prosecute the person for it.

...no doubt there are many refinements in the legal definition but still, this one has a point to be made. It says "in order to prosecute the person for it". That seems to mean that the whole point is to be able to prosecute the person for it, not stop the crime. The government desperately needs "terrorists"....and they'll do anything to get them...
