One group (mainly European Jews) occupies land because a book of fairy tales tells them to do so, and because they are egged on by another religious group that tried to exterminate them (Christians!). Extremists within the European Jewish group actually bomb and harass Jews in Iran and Iraq, where they have lived mainly in peace and security for thousands of years, in order to scare them into moving to Israel right after its founding (this is well documented).

2. Over the course of 50+ years, the indigenous people (Palestinians) are systematically murdered, their land stolen, themselves discriminated against. Land stolen. Houses destroyed, bulldozed by special bulldozers designed just for this purpose. made in the US of A. Olive trees uprooted. Building permits denied, denied, denied. Schools closed. Power and water cut off. Israel spends 1/5 the amount of money on "Arab" Government schools than "Hebrew" government schools. This is well documented by Israeli human rights groups.

3. Unfortunately for the newcomers, as of 2010, 20% of the population in their relatively newly formed country is a peaceful indigenous people, Palestinians, with a higher birth rate.

4. Even with hundreds of thousands of Jewish immigrants coming from Russia, the United states, and other countries each year, with the Palestinian birth rate being as high as it is, much higher than the Israeli birth rate, Israel will cease to be a "majority Jewish" state in the coming decades.

5. Israel has no choice but to make life a living hell for Palestinians, making it as impossible for them to live as they can, killing as many of them as they can, not granting them permits to build homes or commercial buildings, to make life as impossible as can be imagined, to fight this scary truth.

6. The Jewish Israelis will be outnumbered in a few decades, and if it is truly a democracy, the "Jewishness" of the state of Israel will cease to exist in a peaceful vote, without a war to be fought.

From Wikipedia: 2008

A 2008 poll on intercommunal relations by Harvard Kennedy School titled "Coexistence in Israel" found that "Arab citizens and Jewish citizens both underestimate their communities’ liking of the 'other.'" The poll found that 77% of Israeli Arabs would rather live in Israel than in any other country in the world. The study also showed that 68% of Jewish citizens support teaching Arabic in Jewish schools to help bring Arab and Jewish citizens together[228]

A poll by the Center Against Racism (2008) found a worsening of Jewish citizens' perceptions of their Arab counterparts:

* 75% would not agree to live in a building with Arab residents.
* More than 60% wouldn't accept any Arab visitors at their homes.
* About 40% believed that Arabs should be stripped of the right to vote.
* More than 50% agree that the State should encourage emigration of Arab citizens to other countries
* More than 59% think that the culture of Arabs is a primitive culture.
* When asked "What do you feel when you hear people speaking Arabic?" 31% said they feel hate and 50% said they feel fear, with only 19% stating positive or neutral feelings.[229]

I say, the solution is for the Palestinians and Israelis to embrace each other and encourage intermarriage and inter-cultural discourse. A south-African style Truth-In-Reconciliation Commission, followed by years of cross-cultural exchange, marriage between the two groups, and freedom/love, rather than hate. That is the only solution. Either that, or they can kill each other to oblivion, while the Christian war profiteers keep raking in the dough.

But the religious on both sides don't want peace. What good are ultra-religious people when everybody is getting along and enjoying the life here and now? That's why an Arab could have never killed Yihtzahk Rabin. It had to be an orthodox Jew...
