..these jihadist groups do NOT "come back to bite them"...which is a variation on "mistakes were made"...mistakes were NOT made and it was not a surprise bite. This is not to say that US intelligence planed everything out...you don't have to "plan" how the cards in a house of cards will fall exactly...it is enough to know that you will destroy the house of cards...the individual cards can fall wherever they damn please.

To see the US as bumbling about and getting surprising and unforeseen results from its bumbles paints too benign a picture...no empire functions like that....these are not mistakes, they are policy decisions...all they have to do is disrupt and corrupt...that's all. And that is no mistake, or accident or "gee whiz, didn't mean THAT to happen"!
