Like Chomsky says your're either a public intellectual or an establishment intellectual, and if you are the former, then you must be accurate in what you say or write regarding your position. People like Nader or Chomsky don't have the luxury to make those mistakes. Chomsky, if you've noticed, like Finkelstein, purely goes by information based on internal records, he doesn't make assumptions, or else he'll be another conspiracy theorist like every other toothless, meth-head paranoid hillbilly.

...I agree...they have to be especially careful, but I don't have to worry about being fired, or denied access...I don't WANT access...I don;t want to play....I want to think...and there is every reason to believe in conspiracies....people accuse you of being a conspiracy nut before the evidence leaks out, then they accept it....had Watergate never broke open, I would have been called a conspiracy nut for believing that Nixon was a crook who did things like he DID....if the government would open its files, there would be no need to have "theories", we would have the facts...but since they don't and since we know they lie regularly, I'm still not going to play by their rules which say that until I get all the facts (from where, I don't know) I can't form an OPINION.

I don't KNOW Oswald didn't shoot Kennedy but, as Stone says, "who shot him isn't important, it's WHY he was shot...and for that you are free to think, to ask, to speculate...I don't HAVE to prove it to anyone....it just makes "sense", you know? Anyone remember "sense"?
