"...how much humanity owes the Gay community. It's about time...religion is the handy front for depravity...being Gay isn't depravity...being Christian is."
-- In the 60s, the Black struggle was the head of the spear of revolutionary challenge and change... the 70s, Womens' Liberation and Gay/Lesbian rights, anti-nuclear movement, eco movement, etc. Now, it's strictly the LGBTQ community that's at the forefront (at least in the media.) But... Blacks, for the most part, are on the same side as White Christians when it comes to equal rights for the LGBTQ... And within both the Women's movement and Gay/Lesbian movement, there is still the problem of ... class. Working Class Black women don't feel equal to their supposed white, upper-Middle-Class sisters, just as in the Gay and Lesbian community in L.A., at least, the brothers and sisters who come from poor, working families don't get to hang at the pricey restaurants and night spots in West Hollywood with their comrades. Once again, when are people going to learn before they enable history to repeat itself, "first as tragedy, second as farce."
