...I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Bannon who suggested he be demoted and even shoved out by Trump so it would appear Trump is distancing himself from "those folks"....chickenshit strategy....
-- That's a possibility. The other theory is that there is a power struggle between the nationalist wing (Bannon) and the globalist wing (Kushner). The alt right have already voiced their displeasure by describing Trump's decision as "a war for Israel". Their leader (Richard Spencer) in a recording said that "Trump is dead to me". He even attempted to join the anti-war and anti-imperialist left and far-left in D.C., but was chased to a cab, pulled out, beaten, and glittered by the anti-Fascists (AntiFa). But all of this is just more bread and circus for the masses who love to see Team A (nationalists) against Team B (globalists) as if they're watching another football game. The truth is that Trump (even though he said he spent his own money) is bankrolled by the deep pockets of libertarian white supremacist billionaire Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah Mercer who controls every aspect and detail of Breitbart. Bannon belongs to them... and he's not going anywhere. Of course, I wouldn't doubt that a nice ultra-Orthodox Jewish boy like Kushner (whose family is heavily invested in the settlement movement) might for good reason despise a bunch of white supremacists who believe that Jews are only "good" in Israel and "bad" while in white man's land.
