...xactly. So, if it's true today and we can't tell our parents that it doesn't matter what language you speak, you will always be Assyrian...how come the ancient Assyrians could remain real and true Assyrians if they forgot THEIR language?

...the nationalist, who has just enough sense to be emrarassed but not enough to know what to do about it, is forced to say that the Aramean language was "really" Assyrian all along...onky, then why can't Arabic ALSO be really Assyrian "all along"? Or why not English? Can you be Assyrian if you only talk about it in English? Barbra Streisand and so many wealthy Jews have helped Israel immesurably without speaking a word of Hebrew....have they "forgotten" who they are just because they forgot Hebrew?
