nothing new about this. In early times, other Christians who were viewed as fake had their scriptures burned by those that defined what Christianity would be. These scriptures were read by many Christians and considered sacred yet the church had no problem burning them because they contradicted what ass holes like bet shlimon believe today. You asked for good books, pancho, I would highly recommend "when Jesus became God". This book is scholarly and the best book out there on the Christian dilemmas and in particular, the Arian controversy which was perhaps the biggest in history of Christendom. It's very detailed and informative. I believe you will love it and read for yourself how good old Christians filled with holy ghost were lynching and poisoning other Christians. The massacres and events that took place. Another hell of a book is "lost Christianities" and "early Christian doctrine". There are more and I be more than happy to give u the titles soon.
