The US "protection" of Iraqi Kurds was a joke all along. Turkish Kurds are much more oppressed than those in Iraq yet the US was only "concerned" with those in Iraq because it was Saddam, Iraq and oil. When I bring this up to Americans, they'll say Saddam was killing Kurds and I say for every Kurd Saddam killed, Turkey has killed a thousand. Every Turkish Kurd I have spoke to about this subject agrees with me. Of course Iraqi Kurds might not think so but it's a fact and just another classic example of contradictions in US foreign policy. I see US policy a lot like Christianity where it doesn't make sense and it's not supposed to. In Iraq you remove a Sunni government and empower Shia majority but then say you're worried about Iran and want to go to war with Iran. You say you want freedom and democracy but you overthrow any elected leaders you don't approve of. The reason Americans are so dumb and ignorant of what really goes on is because the government is confusing and contradictory. Most Americans don't even know that Turkey has the largest Kurdish population and been at war much longer. Where are the no fly zones for them?
