Those good old days are long gone and the Assyrian Christians will never ever receive such recognition again under any of these modern constitutions. The non Muslims under Islamic rule had it made and minorities today would wish to have such freedom to govern and rule themselves without having to share responsiblities of serving in the military or any other responisiblities. Out of anger and jealousy a few hatemongers had to invent a lie against Muslims. So they picked the "jizya" to complain about but they forget what the jizya was for and what benefits came from that. Firstly, the Jizya was not taken from every religious minority but from the men of military ages and only those who could afford it were required to pay the small amount anually. It was no higher than what the average Muslim pays in zakat only difference is that Zakat is obligatory on all Muslims male and female who can afford it.

It is obvious that what these boys are crying for today is what they had under Islamic rule and those days are long gone. Today's secular governments do not rule by Islamic sharia, therefore, minorities will not get what they want and their demands are not respected. Islam was the best thing that ever happen to Mesopotamia and everywhere else it went since the golden days of Assyria and Babylonia. Even those who didn't embrace Islam were still happy and unharmed. Somalia is currently experiencing a huge jihad and that is to implement an Islamic government which will bring an end to the corruption, poverty and warfare that has torn the country up for over 20 years. Maybe Assyrians can move there some day and demand recognition lol.
