Ordinarily I'm not vindictive...I don't like the death penalty and I don;t like prisons and I don't much care for the kinds of punishment that's meted out to non-violent offenders especially....but this case brings joy to my heart....not just because this judge deserved it and worse, but because this case shows us what happens when business models are applied to governance.

Not only are private prisons eager for "customers", but they have every incentive to make sure a prisoner does something to justify extending his sentence...once they have their "customer"...why would they ever want to let him go?

In fact the business model for government is the worst thing imaginable because business is about making profit no matter what....and in governing ourselves there should be no such temptation.

I wouldn't be surprised if this judge doesn't take his own life too...now that he'll have time to contemplate just what he did, without the distraction of the spoils of his crime, he may not want to live with himself.
