These are politicians arguing it, not historians. By that logic, every war will become a "genocide" and the Turks are actually correct here because western historians say the same thing. There is no evidence to this day that Turkey was trying to commit a genocide, but these are christians again, and they are trying everything they can just to give muslims one genocide to their name. Hate to ruin their joy but the young turks were not muslim to begin with so to say they were trying to wipe out christianity from their land has no basis. These were the same people who dismantled the ottoman empire, kicked out the caliph, arrested many clerics and closed down all the islamic schools, mosques, etc. Christians want to say it was muslims killing christians and only because of religion but that's not what happened. It was christians trying to end the ottoman empire and it was christians who declared war on the turks and the turks were only defending themselves. Far from a genocide, but the turks do admit that people were killed and that goes for all sides, not just christians. --------------------- |
