That's exactly right. These fools try to be clever by trying to make everything Assyrian so they say our people were calling themselves Assyrian all along when in reality they were identifying as Aramean. Another factor that slaps them in the face is when the Catholics were given the name "Chaldean" by Rome, the remaining Nestorians became jealous and started using it as well. If they were Assyrian and fully aware of it, why didn't they just go by that? There was no such identity at the time and this pisses them off so they have to hide on their forums. No academic takes them serious and even the silly western xtian missionaries who do so are only using them and trying to convert them to their Christianity.

As far as the ancient Assyrians, most common people's knowledge of them comes not from real history books but from the Bible which is not a history book at all. IF the bible was called upon in court as evidence, it would be thrown out but the judge wouldn't be able to do that since he or she is most likely a Christian and their salvation hangs on it. For that reason they have to treat it differently. The ancient Assyrians were known for magnificent arts, and other things yet we are told of how bad they were and God punished them for it. So the today's christians, who call themselves Assyrians, yet have nothing to do with them, feel that the ancients repented for their crimes by accepting that Jew boy. Too bad for them, but there are no records of any "Assyrians" becoming Christian in 33 ce or 300 ce or any other time. This only one more lie of the many they and their church has invented.
