I've been awake all night watching several different Tariq Ali and Chomsky talks. I think this is the one in which he refers to wars as business "good for the economy?... but why?" I agree, I thought that would be the first and the strongest point he should've made and followed through with it.

I also notice that the 9/11 question is always responded with riducule by Ali, Chomsky and Robert Fisk, among others on the left. The reason I think that they respond this way is to not discredit themselves within Marxist, Anarchist and Socialist intellectual circles, who have absolute contempt for, and paint as intellectually inferior, the right wing Libertarians who are at the forfront of all conspiracy theories, from JFK to 9/11. The only person I can think of on the left, who has challenged Chomsky in the past regarding JFK, the meetings of the elite at the Bohemian Grove, the Bilderberg group and the Trilateral Commission, is Michael Parenti.

The person from the right or the far-right who covers this type of stuff on his show on prisonplanet.com (whom I don't care for much), is Alex Jones. He's become really big with the 9/11 Truthers. He may have actually had alot to do with organizing the people around it through his films and radio show.

The problem I have with Jones is that he'll sometimes make things up to push his agenda. The other reason is that a lot of the 9/11 Truthers are far-right militia types and neo-nazis and even Tea Baggers who "don't trust the gov'ment". I know it's not a good reason to turn away from the information he provides, but his followers call all the people I like (Chomsky, Goodman, Blum) as "gatekeepers of the left".

So, personally, Parenti provides that balance for me. Plus, he livens up the talk with a certain hoodlum-like sense of humor when he gets going. I find Chomsky the brightest and most intelligent. Outside of politics, he's made some incredible contributions in the field of lingiustics. But for some reason, I always fall asleep after 20 mins of hearing his voice. Parenti, on the other hand, is just a riot.
