"look at our own dear, befuddled Arrow....watch as he misses the mark again and again but keeps right on shooting....because he has FAITH. And then some more...and some more....." - I just got done watching the last 20 mins of a film by a young German who was chasing after the famous, American film maker, David Lynch (Eraserhead; The Elephant Man; Blue Velvet), who's been promoting to include the teachings of Maharashi Yogi - Transcendental Meditation: levitation, flying through deep meditation - into the curriculum of public schools, or by creating separate schools in which trained Yogis teach children from an early age to meditate and chant mantras to bring about world peace and harmony.. Of course millions of dollars have been raised for this venture and the idea goes back to the 60s when the Maharishi was introduced to the West via the Beatles (mainly George) and had hundreds of thousands of Westerners donating their money, belongings, minds, wives, and bodies to this Eastern charlatan... There was one former hippie lady who was saying how, on one the hand, the Maharishi was preaching abstaining from worldy pleasures (sex), and on the other hand, he was secretly fucking young White gilrs in his "cave" where he meditated.. One guy and his brother donated $150 million to him, so that he would set up the school of the 10,000 Yogis, who would "teach humanity" peace and love.. I have friends who travel to India and some who've become Hari Krishnas, and each time I question their practices and beliefs, they accuse me "projecting bad vibes".. Some people get hung-up on absolutes, others, on absolutely nothing. --------------------- |
