Some of the most educated assyrians become fools when it comes to nationalism. The only thing they can provide as their proof for being directly related to the ancient assyrians is where they were born, the names they have been using(all recently) and the language they speak(which is aramaic, not assyrian). None of these things prove their claims and this is usually where they completely lose their minds and become emotional or angry. They will then ask of whom those discoveries were if there were no assyrians. This is where they are wrong. The issue has never been the ancients and nobody has denied they existed or those findings belonged to them. The issue is that there is a tiny minority, all of them christian, and they are claiming they are directly related to the ancients. They miss this point and alwways do whenever I talk to them. They then lose their cool and start insulting our mothers.

We know those findings belong to the ancient assyrians and we all know they existed, but the issue is these nestorians and not the ancients. They still can't explain what happened to all of the other peoples who once lived in Mesopotamia. Assyrians weren't the only people there so where are all the others and how come only bet-shlimon and his group survived?
