"The Assyrians and Christians were persecuted a lot in the course of history of Islam but the most recent is about 71 years ago (1933) when Iraqi givernment massacred our people".

With all due respect to the victims, but that was not a "massacre". As you may have read the definitiobn of a "massacre", 1933 was not a "massacre". The first problem is that the number is exaggerrated from about 300 to about 3000. That is common among any people who which to gain sympathy. The second problem is that the incident was provoked by the actions of the few arrogant Assyrians who were fighting the Iraqi government. The British, on the other hand were the key to the whole conflict. They recruited the Nestorians to fight for them, and betrayed them just as always. Then, they put the Iraqi government in power and did not stop or condemn the 1933 incident. Although some people were killed on both sides, it was not a massacre and No, it was not "Islam" because the government was secular and ally of the British. Sorry to inform you.

You also mentioned that Christians and Assyrians were persecuted by Islam, and that is false as well. When the Arab Muslims first migrated to Mesopotamia, as brother Pancho has proven over and over again, the area was a battle zone between the Roman empire and the Persians. They both persucted the Assyrians and had it not been for the Muslim migration and establishment of an Islamic region, there would be far less Assyrians or at the time, "suraye", maybe not one would have survived. However, when the Muslims came, "suraye" were independent and allowed to freely live, worship and govern themselves. It remained so throughout the Islamic golden era and it wasn't until Assyrians decided to risk their behinds in order to serve their "Christian allies" that they faced the first incident with the "Turks" of 1915. My Grand Father was alive and well aware of it back then. He admitted himself how Assyrians were independent under the Ottoman Muslims and it wasn't until we betrayed the Turks that our people suffered an attack.

There are many sides to the story and Assyrians like Aprim like to play blind and paint a whole different picture which does not work. First of all, ever since the 1915 incident, the number of so called "genocide" victims have been going up. First it was 100,000, then it was 300,000 and now the number is 800,000, maybe tomorrow it will be 1000,000, who knows. Whether it was 100, or 100,000, it is still sad for the victims but it was a result of our own actions and we can't be prejudice and play innocent. So, the fact remains that Assyrians never suffered under Islam or Muslims apart from incidents which were provoked by themselves and a few isolated incidents such as a Kurd killing an Assyrian, and an Assyrian killing a Kurd. If you think 1933 was a "massacre", what do you call what the Christians did to the Natives because they wouldn't convert to Christianity? or the African Americans who lost everything and far more people in the millions? those are genocides. Being punished for a crime that was committed is not "genocide" "massacre" or "persecution". The Iraqi government wasn't doing it because Assyrians were Christians, but it was their actions.

The Islamic empire lasted all together for over a 1000 years. That was enough time to not leave a single non Muslim alive if Islam calls for killing of non Muslims. Some of the nicest churches, synogogues, Hindu temples, etc were all build during the Islamic golden empire and lands which were for centuries under Islam survived unharmed and prospered more than ever. That is because the Islamic empire was based on Islam and it was not to oppress or rule over people, but it was to free, libirate and show the right way. While the Jews and other non Christians and even Christians were persecuted, killed and oppressed by the Christians in Europe, Muslims were quiet the contrary. They stopped the persecution in Spain, Eastern Europe and elsewhere it went. Like I said, historians and Christians scholars still praise them and applaud them, but the prejudice and the hatemongers will never be able to do so.

So, I am sorry to inform you, but Assyrians did not suffer "genocide" "massacres" or "persecution" under Islamic rule, nor even under secular rule such as the Iraqi government. Allah(swt) is the witness and our survival, the survival in Spain for 800 years and wherever else Islam went for centuries and centuries, the people of those lands are witness that Islam did not kill them nor oppress them. Then, you still haven't explained how lands which never came under and Islamic rule have the highest Muslim populations. The only Muslims that ever went to Indonesia, Malaysia are a few Yemeni business men and today it has the highest Muslim populations, but I guess you are not aware since all your info comes from the "church of the east" or other prejudice unreliable sources. What about Russia, and other lands with huge Muslim populations. The other day on a Russian station they were showing how there are now over 60 million Russian Muslims there and most of it due to people reverting to Islam, or what about the entire west where you see westerners who have full knowledge of their religion and decide to research Islam for themselves and compare it with the crap we hear on tv and on anti Islamic web sites? who is forcing them.

Remember we don't have "door to missions" nor do we have full time missionaries hat go around "sneaking into poor countries using any nasty method possible to gain a couple of less knowledged people. We just have honesty, setting good examples, and people researching Islam from its sources and not CNN, Christian anti Islam web sites or other places. Peace.
