So Islam has nothing to do with that. it's just that being Muslim it is common and easy to mix with other ethnic groups and if one does not hold his ethnicity as important, that is his/her choice. A religion is only personal "faith" in the closet, but Islam if not just believe but as I said many many times that it is a complete way of living and there is no better system, faithy or philosophy which even comes close to Islam. Islam offers real freedom, and it prevents from became a slave to a man, place or object, it rather makes you a servant of the Most High who gives you most freedom and guidance. the best guidance is the guidance from Allah(swt). As I said I am still researching and comparing the Islamic system and way of life with others and so far they have all fallen short and failed miserably. First, you got Jihad all wrong but I am glad you said "Christianity" and not "Jesus" because yes Jesus(pbuh) did say to "strive" and no one gets a free ticket on the expense of others. Of course God don't need our power; he has all the power and he truly rules the world, but he uses people to do things so he can reward them. "Fighting in the way of allah" don't mean taking swords and killing every non Muslim, but it means "fighting for justice" against "persecution' "injustice" "oppression" and other forms of evil. It don't only mean war but it can be any type of fighting. Financially, spiritually and physically. but no he don't need us but we need him and by standing up to the unjust and the powerful tyrants, we are fighting for wqhat is right. he punishes them from us and rewards us in return and they'll receive another surprise in the hereafter. What do you think happens to tyrants like Hitler, Bush and others who kill millions and not always be brought to justice on earth and even if they get killed, did the millions of dead get their justice? of course not that is why there ius life, death, and the hereafter, the day of judgement, or else there be nop purpose to this life. >In Christianity as I said there is freedom , and as Christians you could pray whenever you want and in any location , you don't have to pray as JESUS described those HYPOCRITES who pray in the Synagogues or in the streets, but he told them if you pray will be to go in your house and close the door and pray in secret where GOD will give you in the open. If he did truly say that, he was talking about the hypocrite Jews but "Salaat" is not like prayer. We have prayer and we have our obligated "salaat" and two are not the same and they do not have the same reasons. Jesus and the other prophets and their immediate followers knew about "salaat" and they did theirs in their times, but Christianity knows nothing of it because it has nothing tyo do with Jesus, but has everything to do with the desires of "men" and church. but that is not a reality but deception and that is why no educated or truth seeking personb accepts it except the ignorant and those who like wishful thinking, but there are good hearted people among them wsho don't know any better cuz its all they know or have, Allah is the best of guiders and he will not harm them. >I never forgot this fascinating story that happened with me over 40 years ago when I was in service and in the Military Academy in ALEPPO( 1964 ) , Syria and as in our training firstly we wake up to have one hour Exercises before having breakfast , but when you be ready the first thing the Instructor will check and one of the things you should shave on daily bases, but as anyone who is familiar with the city of ALEPPO in the winter get very cold, and remember we don't have HOT running water as we have here in this Christian country , which is very tough to have a good and pleasant one, I remember at that time there was a period of a MUSLIM FAST, so the MUSLIMS woke up on daily bases to have the ' FUTOR ' and because of the weather conditions it was very tough to them to have a shave on daily bases, we as Christians we noticed that these people TURNED a good portion of them having BEARDS, as a way to escape the weather sever conditions. Again my brother, Jumblat, that is not Islam but Syrian Arab nationalism and I don't judge by that. I know there are lots of bad Muslims, but I don't blame Islam for what some Muslims do. The majority of the Arabs of those countries, Syria, Iraq, etc are far from Islam, but many are now waking up, rediscovering Islam and redoing it, but there will always be the ignborant, and the corrupt. I know Islam and we also know that many people are ignorannt. I tell you a good example. I have a Muslim friend from Iraq, he was in iraq for 35 years and he thought he was Muslim, but it wasn't until he came to America that he learned Islam, and becvame Muslim. He was a shiite who was ignorant and knew nothing of Islam in Iraq. So one can be from middlke east but it don't make them knowledged or even real Muslim. Today he is a Muslim, he know longer smokes cigarettes or does other harmful things, alhamdulillah. Even if I were from Iraq or lived there all my life, I propably woulfd never had discovered the truth of ISLAM, so AlhaMDULILLAH,I did. Lastly, I do not hate you no matter how much you insult me or Islam and I can't help it but feel bad for you. May God guide you inshallah and allow you to find true peace and freedom, bgut it comes from the individual wanting it.
