Aside from trying to justify the evasive groping and humilations that's become the standard operating procedure at airports these days (like the sick, elderly woman who had to take off her diapers because they suspected she was hiding something), the use of fear is and has been a common means to divert the attention of the masses, just as in Hollywood during the Great Depression the horror genre exploded, as studios began churning out Dracula, King Kong, Mummies and Monster films. --------------------- |
