I find that amazing how they try to bully chaldeans around and every nationalist has memorized 1551 and is never shy to tell them they were invented by the west. Where they become most absurd is when it comes to their own story which is the same thing. They just somehow can't believe the same thing happened to them and they come back, out of desperation, with the silly argument that our forefathers wouldn't have accepted a name if it wasn't truly ours. But they say exactly that about chaldeans. They say those were given the name and accepted it even though it wasn't really what they were. If the nestorians who became catholic did it, why wouldn't the remaining nestorians fall for the same game a few centuries later? It's the same exact thing but we are dealing with propagandists, liars and fanatics. What exactly have chaldeans denied about all of this? Have they said they were always catholic and there was no split between the nestorian church? No, they did not. Nobody denies that but chaldeans aren't wrong when they say they weren't assyrians who became catholic. They were syriac speaking nestorians who converted to catholicism and became known as "chaldeans" and the remaining nestorians became known as "assyrians" a few centuries later. It was christians from europe who did this in both cases and both were competing for converts. They weren't successful with muslims so they targeted these "heretics" and managed to stroke their balls because they were white, offered money and other rewards.

They are no more related to the ancient assyrians than chaldeans are related to the ancient chaldeans. They are both christians who speak syriac and use to be from the same denomination. Then we got little ashur who claims chaldean priests admit they are assyrian and that's bull. I'm assuming he is talking about their previous patriach(raphael bedawid) and he never said such thing but was totally taken out of context. He was talking about himself personally and said that his grandfather was nestorian and became catholic only some short time before raphael was born. He later clarified what he said, but even if he said he was assyrian, so what does that prove? That's his opinion and I can assure that he wouldn't be calling himself assyrian before 150 years ago. He is no more assyrian than that silly nestorian patriarch who says that only members of his church are true assyrians. Again, ancients have nothing to do with this and these priests, bishophs, etc are ignorant and everything christian. They use a name for their church just like chaldeans do. It's the same game and all of them react the same way if someone leaves their church or religion. If this was truly an ethnic identity, it wouldn't make a difference what religion someone had or no religion at all. Blood wouldn't change and language wouldn't matter either. Being an arab has nothing to do with color, religion or place of birth. Not everyone who speaks arabic and identifies as an arab is from arabia originally and not every arab is muslim, but every modern assyrian has to be christian or he is done. These people suck as christians and as an ethnic nation.
