...you would think they had a LITTLE self-awareness because when they laugh at modern Chaldean claims, they themselves say the pope INVENTED modern Chaldeans...but think it's completely stupid to say that Euros invented modern Assyrians!

Euros did it once, with Chaldeans, Aprim never tires of saying that...why is it so surprising that they would have done it AGAIN...with Assyrians this time?

If Aprim admits Euros invented Chaldeans...what does he suppose their motive was...why did they invent them? Whatever THAT reason was it is much more than likely that they had the SAME reason for inventing Assyrians...maybe because of competition between Catholic and Protestant?

Dr Joseph explains, not by inventing either, that the pope sent his missionaries to Mesopotamia at the same time the Catholic Church was losing believers to the Protestants...half of Germany, all of England and Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland all went Protestant...the pope was losing bodies AND revenues....it was the perfect time to go hunting new Catholics and where to get them easily but among Nestorians and Jacobites etc., people who had been heretics to the Catholic faith for centuries.

So the French Catholic missionaries come to Mesopotamia, in Ottoman lands and they lure back Nestorians to the Catholic Church and they build their church in geographical Chaldea,,,a nice nod to the bible AND the Nestorians living in that "historical" corner of Mesopotamia....and they win converts back to Rome.....so, 200 years later when the great Protestant missionary movement is born, the Protestants go to the same region in Mesopotamia and start seeking converts to THEIR brands of Christianity...and they too invent an identity for the ones they want to attract...it's the same Euro game the pope played with "Chaldeans...the same that Protestants played with "Assyrians".

note to ashur: do NOT bring your fucking map back...bring us something new, say from maybe the 18th century?
