Rashad wrote: "Americans don't even talk to their neighbors or work colleagues." -- In my no-so-humble opinion, I think that the Protestant work ethic (work hard and don't ask for much bullshit... blah blah blah... we are born "wicked" bullshit) and the Puritans' hard-ass, stiff-upper-lip and "rugged individualism" bullshit... and the "I got mine, fuck you!" bullshit, and the "it's in the nature of man to "compete" bullshit... and your "body is dirty" bullshit... has fucked-up the psyche of the average American, who must be "keeping up with the Joneses" bullshit when one guy says "I painted my house"... the immediate reaction is "I too painted my house"... or "my wife made me the best steak last night"... naturally follows by "my wife made me the best Filet Mignon... then she blew me" bullshit. Each man must top the other because in the U.S. there are no classes, only "winners" and "losers"... "Cowboys" and "Indians" bullshit. *(Sorry for not making any sense.) --------------------- |
