" I guess he has never read the books written by Christian, Jewish and other non-Muslim scholars and historians who say the opposite."

Even if he has read NOTHING about Islam...where has he read that they used the sword to convert people? What Christian historian has said so? I mean no scholar in the world says that...in fact they say the opposite. Seems to me more of the same stuff as insisting the Turks MUST have committed genocide...because the Christians DID, and everyone knows it....only nut jobs deny the Holocaust...but serious historians and scholars refuse the genocide label when applied to Turks....in fact it is nut jobs who insist the Turks MUST HAVE committed genocide.

No one denys an ancient nationīs right to conquer lands...thatīs what people did back then...how many swords were used by how many Christian nations to make war and conquer? Their reasoning is like this....Muslims made war...Muslims used the sword to make war with...in lands where Muslims conquered, native populations converted to Islam, therefore: it was only because of the sword that they converted. Huh? I guess because they USED a sword to conquer, then they must also have used the sword to get people to convert...

I would think a scholar would feel intellectual dishonest making such claims without providing evidence....you know, PROOF?
