It’s okay to have hope. But it has to be based on at least what’s possible....even if the odds are very slight. You can hope to win the lottery, despite impossible odds, because we all know someone is going to....why not you, or me, or her? You can’t hope that there’s going to be an Assyria, or that any Muslims are going to give “back” anything. Such a thing has never happened and it never will. It’s like hoping you can walk on water unaided...it’s never happened and it never will. There’s no basis at all to hope for such a thing.

Israel wasn’t “given” to the Jews by the Palestinians...it was stolen by Christians and the United Nations FROM the Palestinians...and the theft was made legal. Unless someone steals land from Iraq to give to Christians, it’s never going to happen. And if that should happen...the Christians are going to be in for decades and centuries of war and suffering like nothing they’ve ever imagined before.

The Kurds didn’t “hope” someone would give them Kurdistan. For decades they’ve been seriously fighting for the land and they got their chance finally when the Christians stepped in and backed them up. The Kurds TOOK, they didn’t hope. They got a country the way every other country has been gotten...by force of arms.

Assyrians can “hope” till they drop dead...no one is going to give them anything.

Some claim there is “hope” in the Iraq Sustainable Democracy Program set up by Michael Youash who, except for this, sounds like a fairly bright person. Until there’s hope for peace in Iraq there’s no hope for clean water, garbage service or electricity, never mind democracy in a land now to be ruled, democratically, by a Shi’aa majority. All democracy means is majority rule, that’s all. Nothing, except misery, is being sustained in Iraq right now.

Are we ONLY clowns? Can we never deal in hard realities?
