...the legislature has passed yet another bill pretending NOT to discriminate but which filled with discrimination...you can tell how desperate they are...

"The bill states that it is protecting from discrimination anyone who believes marriage is between one man and one woman, sexual relations are reserved solely for marriage and the terms male and female pertain only to a person's genetics and anatomy at birth."

....first off we need a definition of "discriminate"...just so we know what we're talking about...

Full Definition of discriminate

dis·crim·i·nat·eddis·crim·i·nat·ing

transitive verb

1
a : to mark or perceive the distinguishing or peculiar features of b : distinguish, differentiate <discriminate hundreds of colors>

2
: to distinguish by discerning or exposing differences; especially : to distinguish from another like object
intransitive verb

1
a : to make a distinction <discriminate among historical sources> b : to use good judgment

...these definitions rescue a perfectly good word from what's been done to it for political reasons.

2
: to make a difference in treatment or favor on a basis other than individual merit <discriminate in favor of your friends> <discriminate against a certain nationality>

...this is the relevant one for this discussion and this bill.

...just how are Gays "discriminating" against religious folk? Are Gays demanding laws outlawing straight marriage...or reserving marriage only for themselves? Are they demanding the right not to serve cake to straight people? Do Gays insist on keeping straight people in their own place?

...If Gay people can legally marry, how does that "discriminate" against straight religious folk? How? Gays aren't the ones taking away or denying equal treatment for straight religious folk...it's the other way around which is why this language in the bill is so tortured and meaningless.

...this is another argument AGAINST State's Rights...because too many of our states, especially the southern ones who lost their war FOR slavery, are backwards and barbaric...as we would all be if the nation's capital was in Tuskaloosa....or Little Rock...Hog Waller

..eventually the religious folk will even lose their battle aginst a woman's right to a safe legal abortion.
