...this guy posted on Maggie's message board.....a real catch.

Youel,

...this guy signs himself "Ashurbanipal"....clearly, that's not his real name. Now "youel" might not be real either, but it's much more likely that it is...so, this fellow uses a fake name...for his fake identity. A good way for our heroes to begin.

Firstly, I'd just like to introduce myself to this forum's users. My name is Ashur and I am from Sydney, Australia. I am a proud Assyrian-Australian.

...he is going to go on and condemn youel for being proud to be an Assyrian-Iraqi...it's okay for him to be a proud Australian...but how dare anyone be proud to be Iraqi!

I am a staunch Assyrian Nationalist, so quite often I surf the net looking for news on Assyria, Assyian people etc.. I recently stumbled upon this forum and read some of the articles/debates going on here.
From most of the comments I read, you seem to be popping up and going on about your so called "Iraq". It is very clear to me that you are either in the wrong place or this site's creators have named it incorrectly. I believe it is called SPEAKASSYRIA, NOT SPEAK IRAQ. You have obviously sold out your Assyrianism to become an Iraqi, which is too bad for you, but it is a free world and it is your choice to make. Having said that, as an Assyrian I could not just sit around and read your disgusting comments anymore without letting you know that not all Assyrians have the same weak mentallity that you do. I will start off by telling you that just because you and most of your generation have bent over and gave in to the Arab occupiers of Assyria and cowardly accepted that our Assyrian land is now called "Iraq" and you are now "Iraqi", not all Assyrians are the same as you. There are many people like me, especially in my generation, which you obviously don't know anything about, and we are Assyrians (no matter where in the world we come from) refer to our land as "occupied Assyria" NOT "Iraq", so you can only imagine how outraged I was when you wrote that nonsense about the oil not belonging to Assyrians and it is property of all Iraqis, and if an "ethnic group" doesn't want to fall under the so called "Iraqi umbrella" they should be disconnected.

...that's what Native Americans had to do eventually...and, if you recall, it's the same kind of Umbrella the indigenous Aborigines of Australia had to come under, when allowed, or else there would be even less of them. It's indeed quaint how this fellow can live in "occupied Australia" while railing against those who live in "occupied Iraq". So....why did he leave his "dear assyria", when so many others remained behind?

I am greatly insulted as an Assyrian by your comments. You should try to explain what the hell this thing that your calling "Iraq" is ayway, it is just trash. It was a territory made by the english in 1932 to split their spolis of war with the French, and you now expect all Assyrians to give up our 6000+ year history and culture to "fall under this so called Iraqi umbrella"? I don't think so mate. What differece is there between an English made Iraq in 1930 and an American made Kurdistan in 2015? Absolutely nothing!! They are both illegally occupying Assyrian land and made for people who have got nothing to do with Assyria besides the fact that they forced their way into it and illegally occupied it, eventually becoming the dominant majority and imposing their culture and religion on the land untill with the help of outside forces they "officially rename it", which the did by illegally calling our land Iraq in 1933 and soon to be Kurdistan in the near future.

...that's interesting...I mean the last part about how people forced their way into Iraq becoming the dominant majority etc. How does he think Europeans took Australia? How did HE wind up in Australia? Did the indigenous people invite him in? I assume he owns a home there in Sydney. Whose land does he think that is? Did he buy it from the Aborigines or the European majority? Would he be willing to "give back" his land to the rightful owners? And where did the name AUSTRALIA come from? is it the Aboriginal name for the country...or was it invented by trashy Europeans?

..like I said, Christians fear and despise Reason.
