...what I was trying to say is that no Englishman, for instance, would claim direct descent from Beowolf, or King Arthur....he wouldn't NEED to or think to because he has English nationality, just by being born in England.....but we, on the famous other hand, WOULD say we are direct descendants of a Beowolf, or Ashurbanipal, mostly because we like the sound of it but also because, having no "England"...no Assyria, we feel that is the way to make a connection with the ancients...it is absurd, of course.
