...thank goodness our people don't run their own medical schools...that they don't say "we know" when it comes to brain surgery. Even we have to admit that you have to study and study and then serve a long apprenticeship to become an engineer...or doctor..or test pilot. And we can see that whenever we're forced to get an actual education and training, and we can see that whenever it isn't in our own hands...whenever we can't say "I know because my grandpa told me so"...when we're forced to study and meet real standards...we do very well, in fact we excel.

Sadly and unfortunately we don't demand the same of ourselves in certain fields and that's weird. We don't engage in serious preparation for the Humanties..for art...and certainly not for politics or history...in these fields we rely on what grandma and the priest told us...what can we expect?

I mean think of us calling a graduate of Princeton's science department...or medical school..or law school...a CROOK...a TRAITOR or STUPID. Imagine us saying, about someone with a Ph.D in the the sciences that his diploma was "so-called". We don't, of course, because even we know we're ignorant of the subject and have no knowledge or expertise...but it's the SAME in history..or politics. We're just as ignorant there as we are of astro-physics...but we don't MIND being stupid and seen as stupid in art, history or politcs because we decided to believe it's ALL just "opinion", and isn't our opinion as good as that of any graduate from Princeton?...in fact, we feel PROUD when we call someone like Dr Joseph a "liar" or a "fool".

Brain surgery, physics, chemistry certainly aren't simply opinions...neither is history, I mean REAL history...but we insist it is!

Who's the fool?
